Wish List

OK, so this is the newest wish list I have for you. I plan to keep updating it as I find more things I really want. Unfortunately, having lived a little in the "real world", I find it hard to put things on my list that aren't practical and needful. On the flipside, I hate putting practical things on a wishlist, because it doesn't seem as cool if I would have already bought it myself... So I have taken pains to include the items I have included. Happy hunting!!!

PRINTER INK LINK

The first item I would like, is a nice set of refillable inks for our printer. What really sets this one apart from others is that it has special designed easy-to-refill cartridges included with it. They say that the original cartridges which came with the printer are refillable, but a little tricky. And since these were included for little or nothing extra, I think they're worth it.

Cost: $24.29

HARRY POTTER LINK

I have been wanting the blu ray movies of Harry Potter for a while now, but I just haven't gotten them, because I already have the DVDs (except the newest one). But they are totally sweeter in high definition.

Cost: $55 for yrs 1-5; $20 for 6th year (note that the newest one comes out early December)

G51 LINK

I would also like is a 5.1 channel surround sound system for our computer. I REALLY would like a 7.1 channel system, but I couldn't find any for a computer. I would be fine with any basic system, but I just thought this was a good combination of performance, value, and price. Something cheaper would be much appreciated, but I certainly wouldn't want anything better than this.

Cost: $110 for G51, could be as low as $60 for something cheaper

Now, as for Hannah, the only thing I know that she wants is a jewelry box... But I don't know what kind exactly. I don't think she even knows. I know that you could probably pick one up at Finders Keepers for cheap.

Free Hotcakes!

I found out last night, over the radio, that McDonald's Restaurants in Milwaukee were giving away free hotcakes and sausage breakfasts this morning. I decided to take advantage of it. Skeptical of long lines, and possible catches to the "free" food, I couldn't be sure what to expect. However, it was a real slick situation, I got in and got out, no hitches. It was awesome. Martin Luther was also born this day in 1483. Viva la revolucion!

Free Time

I just realized it has now been several months since I have updated anything on here. It's about time to write again. Since last time, I started Seminary, which is sweet. I get to study God's Word in the original languages, along with my brothers in the faith. We also do church history, hermeneutics, and homeletics. It's really neat.

Last night I FINALLY got our wedding pictures updated properly on my website, you should check them out.

As for school, I am currently in midterm. I have had a couple of tests, which were easy. But I really believe that the main goal of this school is education, not testing. So easy tests are fine with me. Finally, we have been doing this stuff for years, and none of it is radically different from what we have done before.

End of July Update

Hello everyone! I am having a good morning, and wanted to share a bit with everyone. First off, after being moved in and settled down after the honeymoon, I got the pics up on my website. Again, you can check it out here. I also started looking for jobs.

Right now, it looks like I will be doing something at the YMCA. Probably like lower management stuff. It is cool, though, because they have a totally new pool there. It has like 5 platform dives, and a 16 foot deep diving well, which also has a below water viewing area. The pool is convertable from a regular lap pool to a long course lap pool, and has adjustable height on the pool bottom (evidently only 3 of its kind exist).

In other news, I got a new host name for my website, which seemed a little easier to remember. It is http://michaelschneider.co.cc. It's really just a link to my old site, but I think it is easier for people to remember. For fun, I tried to look up myself in Google this morning. I guess people say that I "googled myself". I found that if you type in my full name, "Michael Wayne Schneider", with the quotes like that, you will find me in 1 / 7 possible results. I also found that if you search for the names Imrightbehindyou and Kratos at the same time, all 3 results point to my sites. That was kind of exciting for me.

Finally Home!

I just moved into the new house for Hannah and me. It was a very long drive, but it was all interstate, so we went as fast as we could. Of course, there was a lot of construction, since it's summer. Only a few more days till the wedding, I'm totally excited. Meanwhile, I got everything unpacked that we brought up. I really love the house (this is the first time I've been inside). It's a lot bigger than I had pictured. It looks like a very nice place to have people over to see.

Almost there...

It's my last couple of days in Salina / working at the pool / with family. It's a bittersweet situation. This coming couple of weeks I'm trying to take it as easy as possible after I move into the new house and we go on our honeymoon.

I still have to prepare for this weekend's VBS at church here in Salina. I also have to get stuff ready for the Salina reception at Jerry Ivey Park. It's all fun stuff though.

I might even get some time to start playing my guitar properly again. I haven't been able to for a while now.

Graduated!

I finally finished up my undergrad at MLC... It's totally sweet. It was a long drive back to Kansas, but we did it, and I'm glad. I'll be able to relax for a while now, without having tests, projects, and the like to haunt my schedule. I'm excited for this summer. I start doing stuff for work tomorrow. It'll be tight.

In other news, my web host is being stupid. I hope it gets fixed soon.

End of the School Year Update

So I have finally arrived at the last week of actual classes (finals next week) in my undergrad career. I will be graduating on May 16th, and we will have a party sometime shortly afterwards in Kansas.

In other news, I am finally building Hannah and myself a computer. It is a totally best-bang-for-your-buck situation. We're getting a Dual-Core E5200 Processor, with 4 GB of 800 Mhz RAM, a 500GB 7200 RPM HDD, a Blu-Ray Player, and a Radeon HD4830 Video Card. All told, it cost $385. Which, is a steal. We're going to be using the newest release candidate of Windows 7, so we won't have to pay for a retail version for another few months. I'm excited. I haven't had a good computer for years now, and Hannah hasn't had a good computer in her life.

Along with the new computer, I'm getting some games that I couldn't play before on my laptop. I'm getting Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, the Orange Box (HL Ep. 2, TF2), Left 4 Dead, Tomb Raider: Underworld, and Need for Speed: Undercover. It should be a blast.

Vacation Planning

OK, so I spent the last week and a half trying to figure out the Disney Dining Plan, which, at least for me, was very confusing. I just now today made a tentative schedule for our vacation, and I'm happy to be done with it. At first I thought we would get the simpler dining plan, which comes with 1 snack, one fast food meal, and one table service meal per day. I thought this would leave us without a breakfast, and would have to pay more on top. Figuring in (way too much) extra money for breakfast, it looked cheaper to get the more expensive plan. The more expensive plan gives you your choice of 3 table services per day. So I picked all of the most expensive places around for reservations. But when I had Disney World change our reservations, the amount seemed more expensive that I had hoped... I rechecked all the numbers, and found out that the "snack" per day is a lot bigger than I had thought. So now I'm set on going for the lower meal plan, and it should work out... I'm just going to verify it with Hannah first, because I don't want to have to change it anymore.

In other news, my webhost got a better server to it, and now it works properly again, without ads. I'm happy again.

Vacation Update

I just got back from my Easter vacation, and had a great time. I got to hang with Dave Sigrist and his wife, Katie. I also spent some time with Hannah and her family. We went over a few things for marriage preparation, which was nice, because now it's not looming over us so much.

I got our reservations made for our meals while we're gonna be at Disney World, too. That is sweet, because now we know where to be and when, and won't have to wait so long for a table.

We came back to school on Tuesday, but then on Wednesday we had our Arbor Day at school. For me, that means I get a day off, because I'm a Senior. So the guys and I went golfing, and just messing around, since it was a nice day.

Now I'm back to the final stretch (really it's still over 4 weeks) of school. I'm totally excited to graduate and be off. It should be quite the summer, with moving back home, lifeguarding, moving to Milwaukee, getting married, and the honeymoon. Then it's off to Seminary next fall. It will be quite a change, but I'm confident it's all a change for the better.

Sweet News

Today I turned in my History paper, and I am going to finish my Philosophy paper, as well. I'll be handing Philosophy in tomorrow. If that happens, I'll be all set to check out for break. Also, I got my new 16GB SDHC flash card today. I tried it on for speed, and I only got 8.6MB/s for write speed, and 15.7MB/s for several smaller files' transfer. Supposedly this one had 17MB/s write and almost 20MB/s read. I'm upset, but I haven't gotten the chance to test it out in our camera yet, because Hannah has it in Milwaukee, so I'll be able to try later on this week. The whole thing was that I needed a disk on which to record HD video. At the very least, it beat out my previous card that had a write speed of 1.4MB/s and read speed of 7.4MB/s. Now, I know that the old card did record for a little bit, but had a hiccup, so it seemed that its average speed was OK, but its minimum was not. Also, I looked at a couple of the high def videos I have, and divided up the size by the length of time... They work out to be just under 1MB/s. So, I am pretty hopeful that it will work out. I'll keep you posted.

History Done!!!

I FINALLY completed my big history paper for the semester. That's a massive load off of my back. For the next 4 days I will be trying to do my Philosophy paper, which is due right after break. I'm going to try to get it done right before break. And after that, when I get back I only have one small History Since 1945 paper, and one even smaller paper for Hebrew. I'm so stoked.

Semester in Full Swing

It's that time in the semester, and has been for a few weeks now, where we're really kicking, and going at full swing. I just got my Hebrew test back today, along with my History test. Hebrew went better than last time, I got a better percentage, then everyone else got a lower percentage, so we all got bumped up. I also ranked higher in the class than I did last time, accordingly. Not to say that it is easy, I mean, the guys in that class are the smartest in the program right now. So even to rank lower among them isn't so bad. As for history, I did poorer than usual, but it's OK. In the end, the majority of our grade is yet to come. The final, the paper due next week, and the group project are all heavily weighted. So now is certainly not the time to be slacking there. For the next few days I will be working on that History project, and when I finish that, I'm moving on to the Philosophy project. Philosophy should be a lot easier than History, but nonetheless time consuming. Unfortunately, it seems that I will need to do my Philosophy over break, which yields no break for me.

Upcoming Publication

I met with President Zarling today for my exit interview. It was the same usual stuff, except, after hearing my story, he decided it would make for a good read in an article. So, I guess I'll be writing an article for a magazine coming out this summer. Which, I think is pretty sweet. Also, today I shipped my wedding band off to get laser engraved with the Hebrew phrase, "My lover is mine, and I am his" on it. I am also excited for tomorrow's tests, because I have been studying like a madman this week to get up on my Hebrew and History examinations. They should both go well.

Sweetness

I just checked on the ftp capabilities of my website today... It looks like I'm OK to edit my site here, even with the college networking restrictions. So, if I can find the time, I might actually do stuff with my site. The good news is that I will be graduating in May, and I'll finally have control over my own destiny with my own internet connection.

Done The Impossible

So, I'm not sure if there are any Firefly fans out there... But if there are, and you still haven't heard, Done the Impossible is a film by, for, and of the fans. I downloaded it super-slow from some website in several pieces... I put them all together and placed them on my website for your viewing pleasure. You can find the file here. Really this was an experiment to see if I could get videos on my website, and I succeeded, you can safely expect some home videos soon.

My Spring Break

So, we all know, that there is no such thing as "spring break". There is a period of time during the spring, where there is no class... Calling it a break of any sort is really a lie. You know you're bogged down with homework, and all the projects which had been surmounting beforehand finally seem to make sense working on. Let's get real, the 3 or 4 weeks after spring break up until Easter break, I'm gonna be loaded with work. You might as well consider me like a prisoner, or on another planet during said time. Anyway, I have read a little, and done some writing, but nowhere near the amount I had planned, that I really needed to do. There are still a few days left, but I have my doubts.

I know this is weak

Well, I finally got a new blog site... Only because, after building my new website, their php settings didn't work... I was going to setup another Wordpress blog within my new server, like I had in the last one, but it wouldn't let me. Now I'm a complete n00b with a blogger account. The good news is that I can still link to this from wherever, even if I do change the site. Anyways, we'll see how this goes.
